Carles Acosta

Carles was born in Terrassa (Barcelona) in 1981. He studied Chemistry at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and he received his degree in 2004. In 2009, he obtained his Ph.D. in Computational and Theoretical Chemistry at the same university studying the structure and reactivity of phosphorated organic compounds using mainly DFT methods. After that, he started working as system administrator of the HPC cluster of the theoretical chemistry groups in UAB, being also a member of the XRQTC (Xarxa de Referència en Química Teòrica i Computacional).

After three years working as sysadmin, he moved to the Services Area in PIC on november 2012 to work in the computing area.
